Position Details
Burge Corporation is looking for an Estimator to join our team. They will be required to prepare detailed estimates and proposals for projects within commercial and telecommunication sectors. We are looking for a person who is creative, innovative and accepts and adapts to change. They need to have a great attitude in the office and towards creating and maintaining relationships through every facet of a project to ensure the growth of Burge Corporation.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the Owner, Vice President and Project Managers. Estimator will work with other positions to obtain real world data from current and previous projects to better estimate projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to estimate multiple projects at once
Understand and evaluate construction plans, and specifications for potential projects
Evaluate and prepare work scopes for estimating
Attend bid walks at locations in different cities, with the ability to climb ladders
Perform takeoffs in an efficient and accurate manor
Solicit, collect, evaluate and qualify subcontractors and proposals
Prepare schedules to forecast costs on estimates
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with subcontractors and vendors and clients.
Prepare estimates, formal proposal and present project team
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2-year experience estimating commercial projects
College degree in construction management or related field preferred but not required
Proficient in MS Office(Outlook, Word, Excel)
Possession of valid driver’s license with automobile insurance meeting Burge Corporation’s criteria

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salaries and wages are based on experience/skill level and are competitive and negotiable.
Benefits include health insurance (60 days after employment with $300/month Burge Corp contribution), 401(k), and paid vacation and holidays.
